Reaffirm The Oath On Law Day - May 1, 2025

On or before May 1, 2025 (Law Day), lawyers across the country are encouraged to participate in #ReaffirmTheOath—a nonpartisan, nonpolitical national grassroots effort empowering lawyers in communities large and small to speak out, stand together, and publicly renew their commitment to the Constitution and the rule of law.

Why #ReaffirmTheOath? Across the country, lawyers have grown deeply concerned about Executive Orders and actions that may violate the Constitution, including several that directly threaten law firms and individual attorneys. Federal judges have faced impeachment threats simply for issuing decisions the Administration disagrees with. 

In the face of these unprecedented attacks on the rule of law and the legal profession, lawyers everywhere have asked: What can we do? #ReaffirmTheOath was created as an answer.

This initiative is more than a symbolic gesture. It’s a collective stand for the American legal tradition and the democratic principles we’re sworn to uphold.
